Life in Prague

Here's some useful information should you want to come visit or live in Prague!! :-)

Prague Transportation:

The transportation in Prague is fantastic!! There's the metro, trams, and buses. It's very easy to get around almost anywhere and its really affordable. No more 4$/gallon for a tank of gas that lasts one week...

A few tips/pet peeves of mine:

1. Make room for people to get out before you get in!! You will not be able to get in if the other people can't get out. Therefore there is no point in standing right in front of the door! Make some room!

2. The Metro Escalators - the right side is for standing and the left is for walking! Get it right...it's not that hard! lol. I hate when people stand on the left side as I'm trying to walk up. Then when I say excuse me to get by they give me a nasty look if I accidentally bump them as I'm trying to pass. Maybe you should have moved out of the way in the first place!

3. Get a metro pass! If you are going to be in Prague for at least a month, I highly recommend a metro pass. It's easy to get, all you need is a passport photo and your passport. It takes about 10-15 minutes to do at one of the kiosks inside the metro. Once you get it you will be able to hop on the metro/tram/bus no problem and you won't have to buy a ticket each time!! Very convenient and saves time!

4. www.idos.cz - great website for using public transit!! Select the type of transit (there is one for Prague public transit-includes metro, bus, trams), then put in the destination and starting location. Results appear on the next page with different route options, which stops to go to, what time the bus/tram comes, etc...
